Due to COVID-19, we will not be holding a Victorian Ball this year in 2021. The next Victorian Ball is scheduled for Jan 29, 2022.
These are very much unprecedented times. In the wake of COVID-19, Triangle Vintage Dance will not be active again for some while until social dancing is safe again. We miss enjoying the dancing, music and costumes of the Victorian and Ragtime eras. While we have always tried to make our dances accessible to newcomers and anyone in the community, we can to do better. We commit to actively dismantling racism, sexism and homophobia and are open to feedback about ways we could do better. We stand against all forms of racism. We support Black Lives Matter and stand with protests and direct action for change. Dismantling racism is a lifelong process, and we commit to listening, learning, and activism. May we all dance together in a COVID-free world soon.

Triangle Vintage Dance (TVD) is dedicated to providing Vintage Dance events as well as
Waltz events for the
Triangle area (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill) of North Carolina.
We also teach a couple of styles
of waltz as well as Victorian dances.
Vintage Dance refers to dancing of the 1860s to the 1930s.
It includes country dances and quadrilles,
which are taught and called like contra dances.
Vintage Dance also includes couple dances such as Victorian Waltz, Polka, Schottische, and Mazurka, as well as
Ragtime One-Step, Foxtrot, Tango, Blues and Charleston.
Additionally, TVD promotes Cross-Step Waltz, that originated in the 1930s.
